CMwD YAN Mission Statement
The Central Midwest District Young Adult Network is a group of young adults ages 18-35 working to build community and to foster growth of the Unitarian Universalist Young Adult movement in the Central Midwest District. We seek to cultivate and integrate the presence and experience of young adults into UU congregations. We affirm and promote the principles of Unitarian Universalism and are an intentionally welcoming, anti-oppressive and growing community. Stay Connected in the CMwD! Opus is the annual spiritual retreat of the Continental Unitarian Universalist Young Adult Network. We are an intentional community of seekers exploring liberal religion, social justice and diversity.

Enviromental Action: Humans Heal the Land at OPUS 2010
The Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie is the first national and largest tall grass prairie East of the Mississippi River. On Friday, we will be rotating among three different 90-minute activities. We will be planting native plants and harvesting seed in the River Road seedbeds, maintaining the Moses Morgan farmstead by clearing away encroaching invasive Honeysuckles and we will hop on a bus and tour around to see many different areas of Midewin to showcase its history and mission. OPUS 2010 will nurture the land, nurture ourselves and the interdependent web of which we are a part.
Our rustic venue may create accessibility issues for otherwise-abled persons, but we will work to accommodate all needs as best we can. Tents are welcome, but not required as cabins are available.
