Enviromental Action: Humans Heal the Land at OPUS 2010
The Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie is the first national and largest tall grass prairie East of the Mississippi River. On Friday, we will be rotating among three different 90-minute activities. We will be planting native plants and harvesting seed in the River Road seedbeds, maintaining the Moses Morgan farmstead by clearing away encroaching invasive Honeysuckles and we will hop on a bus and tour around to see many different areas of Midewin to showcase its history and mission. OPUS 2010 will nurture the land, nurture ourselves and the interdependent web of which we are a part.
Our rustic venue may create accessibility issues for otherwise-abled persons, but we will work to accommodate all needs as best we can. Tents are welcome, but not required as cabins are available.
